Chief minister explains replacing Julie Edge as education minister
The chief minister says he takes full responsibility for 'evolving the council of ministers' as he replaces Julie Edge as minister for education, sport and culture.
The Onchan MHK has been sacked in favour of Garff MHK Daphne Caine with immediate effect.
Ms Edge has questioned the reasoning behind her dismissal, claiming she's lost her job 24 hours after telling the chief minister she wanted to speak out on government's handling of the Dr Ranson case, whistleblowing and the Richard Wright KC report.
But Alfred Cannan argues a change at this point in his administration was always planned:
