Manx Shearwater population now over 500 breeding pairs
The hot, dry summer of 2018 led to a mixed success for breeding birds on the Calf of Man, according to one of the resident wardens.
Aron Sapsford, who'll be giving a talk to mark the Calf's 60th year as an accredited observatory this evening, says there has been some "encouraging signs" of birdlife around the Island.
Mr Sapsford says although it was a tough season for Choughs because of the weather, the Island saw the recovery of another iconic Manx bird after a positive result of baiting program.
