Call for increased take-up of UCM courses
The Isle of Man's hospitality industry is crying out for more qualified staff.
That's the view of the general manager of the Mannin Hotel in Douglas, Rom Kesa.
Last month, the sector had 110 vacancies in it, while University College Isle of Man currently has 28 full-time students studying the relevant qualifications.
Not all of those positions call for such skills, but Mr Kesa says it would definitely be of benefit to have more young people from the Island taking up the UCM courses.
