Financial pressures blamed for cuts
Following a recent cost-cutting review Isle of Man Hospice has confirmed that over 30 staff have taken voluntary redundancy or reduced their hours.
The cuts have been applied across numerous areas of the Hospice's operation including fundraising, catering, support services, admin, nursing, healthcare assistance and therapies.
A Hospice spokesperson told Manx Radio the redundancy process was not one the organisation wanted to put its staff through, but was one that financial pressures forced upon them.

On a positive note both the Department of Health and Social Care and the Minister for Health have set out in writing their support for increased and multi-year funding from 2027, though a final decision now rests on a business case to Treasury - the outcome of which won't be known until February next year.
In the meantime, with six months to wait and an election pending with a possible change of administration, it's an anxious time for the Hospice team.
