Four out of 16 vehicles stopped during Operation Uplift had no issues
Worn tyres, faulty brake, tail and sidelights, cracked and missing wing mirrors and a missing light cover are just some of the defects picked up on vehicles during the police's winter check campaign.
Last night, Operation Uplift took place at Dhoon School in Maughold with officials from Customs and Excise and the Vehicle Testing Centre joining officers.
In total, 16 vehicles were stopped, with 11 of them being issued with vehicle defect rectification notices.
Another vehicle had no defects but hadn’t been taxed since January, and the driver failed a drug wipe, resulting in the vehicle being seized and the driver being arrested.
Only four vehicles had no issues.
