Tynwald to consider report next week
The Island's Manx national party says a report on how Tynwald can improve it's functions doesn't offer 'badly needed' democratic reform.
Mec Vannin spokesman Alistair Kneale says it's good the Lisvane Report will stimulate debate, but any reform should strengthen the Manx government ability to help the Manx people.
A pay review, stopping the Legislative Council from voting on tax policy, and limiting departmental memberships are included among the eleven recommendations set to be consider by Tynwald on Tuesday (20 Jun).
Mr Kneale says his party thinks the proposals don't go far enough:
Manx Care says it is 'doing a lot of work' to tackle concerns raised by doctors
