World War One ordnance discovered in PSM
A World War One shell discovered in Port St Mary last month has been transported back to the UK for 'safe disposal'.
Police have confirmed the ordnance, discovered at a property on Howe Road, was a naval explosive shell.
Experts from an army disposal unit travelled to the Island on 27 April to assess the item.
The shell was made 'inert' and there was no requirement to carry out a controlled explosion.
