Flight from Island involved in July incident
A lucky escape!
That's how a recent report has described how a Loganair flight from the Isle of Man to London City came within 100 feet of a Chinese lantern while travelling at 20,000 feet.
The incident happened on 30 July over Duxford in Cambridgeshire when crew spotted the object.
The Saab 2000 aircraft was carrying 50 passengers.
The findings of the UK Airprox Board, which investigates near-misses, rated the incident as Category A meaning a "serious risk of collision existed".
It says it was down to "providence" or an act of God no one was hurt.
