DHSC asks CQC to help develop independent system
A new approach is being taken for external inspections of Manx health and social care sites, according to government.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has been asked by the Department of Health and Social Care to help create an independent inspections system.
Government says this will then provide assurances to the public that Island services are safe and of high quality.
CQC will carry out a 16-month programme to develop an assessment framework.
Preparatory work is taking place between now and April next year, with the first round of 'on the ground' inspections scheduled between April and October 2022.
Government also adds, alongside existing inspections, the new arrangement will provide external scrutiny and validation.
