The governor designate and his family are arriving on the Island by air today (Monday).
Adam Wood, his wife and eleven-year-old daughter will start the process of meeting some of the Manx people with whom they will become very familiar over the next five years.
His investiture is on Thursday in Castletown, the ancient capital of Mann.
He will take the oath of office in a ceremony in the Castle, before officially taking up his new duties.
Mr Wood has a background in the United Kingdom's diplomatic service, latterly in Africa.
