Hopes Pinewood can re-open next month
There's fresh hope for a former Island pub, which announced it was to close last month.
The newly-established Pinewood Social Club hopes to take over the premises in Pulrose, which owners Heron & Brearley decided to shut on financial grounds.
The group, headed by retiring South Douglas MHK Bill Malarkey, will have its case heard by the Licensing Court next month - with a view to re-opening the venue in mid September.
Membership forms for the 'community-led' club are available now from Pulrose Post Office.
