Aims to build a community
Work is getting underway on a massive new housing development in Ballasalla.
Developer Dandara is building 282 new properties in the village, with the aim of having the first properties completed by spring next year.
The plans - with an associated bypass - have been discussed for some years.
Speaking on Mandate this morning, the vice-chair of Malew Commissioners, Margaret Mansfield, welcomed the news and rejected the notion that there's a danger of Ballasalla becoming a 'dormitory town':
