Months of preparation for this vessel
The Isle of Man RNLI is set to welcome what it calls the first 'all-weather proof' lifeboat next month.
The £2.2 million Shannon vessel will feature a new jet propulsion system to help provide a 'safer and manoeuvrable' launch and recovery service.
Peel Lifeboat Operations Manager Allen Corlett says the new lifeboat will "improve the crew's ability to save lives at sea."
An official 'naming ceremony' is planned for Saturday 27 June.
