The Manx Wildlife Trust has acquired a new nature reserve.
It's celebrating after securing funds to buy 10 acres of land off Scollag Road in Onchan.
The Trust has been running an appeal over the last few months to raise the capital required and has now exceeded its target figure of £50,000 with donations from the public, as well as significant grants from organisations including the Gough Ritchie Charitable Trust, the Farmer Charitable Trust, the Elizabeth Clucas Charitable Trust and the Manx Ornithological Society.
Trust Director Duncan Bridges says it's a valuable acquisition with a mosaic of different habitats
B/A: Whilst the land has now been acquired, Mr Bridges says a lot of work will have to be done at the site including access, fencing and habitat management - so donations are still very welcome.
