Abigail Morgan new world champion
Twenty-times World Tin Bath Champion Erica Cowen, described by organisers as 'the John McGuinness of the event', was unable to make it 21 victories at the 2019 championships yesterday (Sat 7).
She was beaten by Abigail Morgan in the ladies' event, with Jennifer Chance finishing in third.
Cowen started strongly, but struggled to cope with Morgan's stamina who had a strong return leg to win by a few lengths.
David Watt won the men's race once again, having won his heat but then found himself behind Tom Parry in the early stages of the men's final.
However, the former champion fought back, finishing strongly as he took the lead around 3/4 of the way through the race and held on.
Jack Scarlett finished third.
