
The newly appointed chairman of one of Douglas Borough Council's main committees has quashed speculation she will be a candidate in the House of Keys general election in September.
Carol Malarkey was last week confirmed as chairman of the Public Health and Housing Committee.
Her husband Bill has been an MHK for South Douglas since the 2006 election, but Mrs Malarkey says she has no ambitions to follow suit:
