Alex Allinson responds to concerns over GDP and GNP figures
The treasury minister says there's no evidence that the Isle of Man is in recession.
It follows questions in Tynwald this week over figures which show a year-on-year reduction in real Gross National Product since 2020, and reduction in real Gross Domestic Product and GNP since 2017.
Alex Allinson admits the Island has faced its 'challenges' over the past few years.
But he believes there's reason to be confident:
