Peel MHK Tim Crookall says he’s glad the government won’t lose any cash after the cancellation of the Manx Telecom Bay Festival.
This morning (Tuesday) in the House of Keys he asked Chief Minister Tony Brown about government losses arising from the event, before asking Office of Fair Trading Chairman Bill Henderson about people’s rights to a refund.
Mr Brown said the government hadn’t invested any cash in the three-day event and so wouldn’t lose out – although the Post Office had sponsored one of the acts.
Afterwards, Mr Crookall said he was glad the taxpayer hadn’t lost any money.
