Direcor of Hospital Services to go before committee
An investigation into the budgetary overspend by the Health Department, particularly at Noble's Hospital, will continue this afternoon (Wed 9).
Tynwald's Public Accounts Committee will hear from Director of Hospital Services Mike Quinn at 2:30, in the Legislative Council Chamber.
A Health Department exceeding its budget is not a new story on the Isle of Man - over the last two years combined, £20.6million extra was added by Treasury.
It's been discussed before, too - at the beginning of October, the committee heard from the then-Health Minister Kate Beecroft and chief executive Malcolm Couch, on the same issue.
Earlier last year, Mrs Beecroft said the department needs to be more "financially prudent", before the latest figures became public knowledge.
Today's hearing is open to the public, and you can also listen live on the Tynwald website.
