An inquest into the death of a well-known author at a hotel in the Isle of Man has heard she suffered from severe pain and depression.
Susan Morgan who, as Sue Dyson, wrote many novels including some based in the Isle of Man, was found dead in her room at the Falcon's Nest in Port Erin early last month.
Coroner Michael Moyle related how she had suffered depression and chronic pain for many years and a trial separation from her husband may have proved the final straw.
He recorded a verdict of suicide, saying the large number of prescription drugs Ms Dyson had taken suggested she could only have meant to take her own life.
He offered his condolences to her family and friends and added her readers would share her family's sense of loss.
