
The new Palatine Health Centre is being officially opened today.
As well as being a new purpose-built GP surgery, it's also a base for visiting health and school nursing staff and provides office and clinic facilities.
It's almost three times bigger than the previous centre in Murrays Road, Douglas and is home to four full-time and two part-time GPs, five nurses and 16 administrative staff.
Although today is the official opening, the centre has been is use since the end of April.
The building, for the practice's 9,500 patients, is behind Newlands on the edge of the Noble's Hospital site.
