Office of Fair Trading reiterates law on IoM
Cold calling is illegal on the Island.
A reminder from the Isle of Man Office of Fair Trading which is advising people not to employ traders who make unexpected visits offering to do home improvements.
Members of the public are being warned these types of traders can seem genuine and be very persistent.
Head of the OFT, John Peet, is offering tips to avoid becoming a victim of cold-calling.
Anyone who is approached by a cold-calling trader is advised to contact police or call the Trading Standards Division on 686520.
