A 31 year-old man who was disorderly on licensed premises has been given a 60 day prison sentence, suspended for twelve months, by High Bailiff Michael Moyle.
Craig Fisher of Cronk-ny-Mona, Onchan admitted the offence.
Evidence showed Fisher became involved in a fight at Paramount City, at 1.30am on June 15.
The aggrieved party, another man, was punched in the face by Fisher, after he complained to him about touching his wife.
Fisher's advocate said the defendant had not touched the man's wife. He had bumped into her accidentally and was very sorry for what happened.
Mr Moyle said he noted it was Fisher's third offence for violence.
Rosemary Burnett, prosecuting, asked for a charge of actual bodily harm to be dismissed, because the aggrieved person refused to attend court.
