Need for a two-form entry primary school in Douglas
The Department of Education, Sport and Culture has retained the old Park Road School site in central Douglas as an option for the development of a new school.
The secondary school building in the centre of Douglas closed in July 2012 before being demolished.
It first opened its doors in 1894 but was replaced by Bemahague School at a cost of £34m.
Education Minister Julie Edge told the House of Keys this week her Department has a requirement for a new two-form entry primary school in the capital.
As such, the site could be redeveloped going forward.
Mrs Edge told members further meetings are scheduled for early 2024, at which point it's hoped the next steps can be shared:
