Junior Chamber of Commerce event says no to political parties
The idea of a party political system on the Island was overwhelmingly rejected at a special debate last night (THURS).
LibVan members Kate Beecroft MHK and Lawrie Hooper were arguing their case for the change - with MHKs Chris Robertshaw and Howard Quayle arguing against the motion.
Around 50 people attended the ILS World and Junior Chamber of Commerce event at the Sefton Hotel in Douglas.
Afterwards, these people gave their views:

Person suffers 'significant injuries' in 'serious assault' near Peel
Business case for horse trams to be put before Tynwald in July
Plans to turn 'underused space' in central Douglas into wellness retreat
Employment grievance 'upheld' against board of Peel Commissioners
