A fishing boat which tangled with an underwater submarine this week has brought memories flooding back for a fisherman from Peel.
Geoffrey Comber says he underwent an almost identical ordeal 26 years ago today (Friday, 17th April) off the Island’s West coast when his boat was suddenly dragged backwards.
His crew had a lucky escape when they were forced to cut their gear loose in order to free themselves.
Mr Comber says in his case it quickly became clear what had been responsible:
Vote on Castle Rushen High School funding 'very unlikely' before election
Ramsey Commissioners to host public meeting about cottage hospital
WCAS reuse garages to reopen on trial basis
Manannan's morning sailings cancelled due to weather conditions
