70th anniversary of the event
Peel is gearing up for its 70th carnival today (6 August).
Roads around the Promenade and East Quay closed at 10am - with the grand parade scheduled to start at 2pm.
It's the first carnival for two years after an enforced break because of the Covid pandemic.
