33-year-old denies punching woman in head
A Peel man will stand trial next year after denying assaulting his partner during an incident in Tesco car park.
Jamie John Robertson, of McLeods Field, appeared at Douglas Courthouse where he entered a not guilty plea to the charge.
The 33-year-old has been accused of punching the woman in the head as she was sat in a vehicle, just after 1pm, on 17 December.
A pre-trial review will take place on 14 February and he’s been bailed until that date.
UPDATE: 14 February 2023
At Douglas Courthouse on 14 February the prosecutor told the court the woman had been ‘uncooperative’ and had refused to make a complaint or assist the prosecution with the case.
Mr Robertson’s advocate told the court his client accepted his behaviour had fallen ‘below the acceptable standard for the area’.
High Bailiff Jayne Hughes imposed a 12-month Bind Over Order and dismissed the common assault charge against him.
