A packed Corrin Hall in Peel on Monday night heard more about a proposed 144-house development on the town's outskirts.
The development has been approved by planners, but an appeal launched by Peel Commissioners is due to be heard on Thursday.
The majority of those who attended the requisition meeting, and the commissioners, are against the plans.
They feel the town's infrastructure, particularly the schools, the medical centre and sewage system could not cope.
QEII head teacher Sue Moore flagged up some concerns, while Health and Social Care Minister Howard Quayle said there were plans to extend the centre, if needed.
Also in attendance was Heritage Homes' housing director, Ciaran Downey, who explained to Manx Radio afterwards about the sewage:
