Statistics show employee contributions will amount to £462 per person
Figures released by Treasury in response to a freedom of information request reveal that over £1,600 per person will be spent in 2024-25 on former government employee pensions.
Meanwhile the statistics show that current employee contributions will amount to £462 per person.
The freedom of information request noted that since the 2021/22 Budget the breakdown of the spend per person on former government employee pensions, and the current contribution, had not been published.
In his response the Freedom of Information Coordinator, says the spend per person in 2024-25 will be £1,699 per head.
This compares with £1,278 per head for 2018-19 of which £287 came in current employee contributions.
