It is understood the Planning Committee is expected to review proposals from Manx Utilities for the next stage of its sewage treatment works in Peel, within a month.
Raw sewage is currently pumped out to sea near the breakwater in Peel Bay, resulting in the area's bathing water failing to meet the minimum quality standard.
Manx Utilities has previously stated that efforts to stop this practice have been stalled due to delays in land acquisition and issues obtaining specialist equipment.
