Planning committee chair using deciding vote after committee's decision was split
Plans for a 12-storey multi-purpose facility on the site of the former Lord Street Bus Station have moved a step closer.
It's after the planning committee voted to disagree with a report recommending the application be refused.
Chair of the committee Rob Callister MHK had the deciding vote after the panel was split three in favour and three against.
The plans include a multiscreen cinema, bus facilities and 85 apartments.
A report considered by the committee recommended the project be refused due to concerns over the lack of affordable housing included.
A list of conditions will be considered by the committee at its next sitting before it decides whether to grant planning permission.
Clarification: Manx Radio apologises that an earlier version of this story stated the committee had voted to approve the plans.
