An attempt is being made to streamline Douglas Council and make it more efficient.
At tomorrow's monthly meeting, council leader David Christian will propose reducing the number of councillors from 18 to 12 by the time of the next local authority elections in 2012.
On Agenda last night, he said he also wanted a new structure to be introduced for council business, to replace the present 'outdated' system:
Vote on Castle Rushen High School funding 'very unlikely' before election
Ramsey Commissioners to host public meeting about cottage hospital
DfE provided more than £250,000 to MT to assist with below ground fibre installations
Man given suspended sentence after importing 2kg of cannabis to Island
WCAS reuse garages to reopen on trial basis
