No permanent home yet for 'Peggy'
An MHK says plans for the Nautical Museum in Castletown don't need to be grand, just a basic structure to house 'The Peggy'
A recent funding bid was made by Manx National Heritage to redevelop the site however it was unsuccessful.
Enterprise Minister Tim Johnston cited high costs to build a 'world class' facility which would have housed 'Peggy'.
It's been suggested a future bid can be submitted as there are hopes to find a suitable centre for the ancient boat, but Minister Johnston says other 'funding sources' would be needed.
MNH's proposals were expected to cost a total of £6.13 million, with a £4 million bid made to the Economic Strategy Fund last year, in addition to the £2 million already promised by other sources.
Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Jason Moorhouse says unrealistic targets are getting in the way:
Three-month wait for state pension forecast statements
OFT to investigate possible regulation of funeral directors
"One of the Island's foremost champions of Manx heritage" to receive Tynwald Honour
No timeline yet for reinstatement of rehab service to north
Venezuela Fury & Noah Price wedding "a true showcase of the breadth and quality of Manx services"
