Hartford Homes hope to build 153 new properties
An application to build more than 150 new homes in the north of the Island has received unanimous approval.
The planning committee made the decision on Hartford Homes' proposals for Vollan Fields in Ramsey this week.
The project (23/00744/B) will see 153 new properties built in the area - 114 to be sold on the open market, with the remaining 39 listed as affordable properties.
Prior to the meeting, Ramsey Town Commissioners raised concern over the impact the development could have on the town's infrastructure, while Manx Care flagged the impact on dentistry.
At the meeting, members also questioned whether or not there is a genuine need for a primary school in the area.
However, it was approved with 37 conditions covering a range of issues, including drainage and flood risk, the ecological impact of the development, and the need to include active travel options.
