Include installing a four-foot flood wall at West Quay
Plans to install significant flood defences for Ramsey West Quay have been submitted by the Department of Infrastructure.
It's part of efforts to improve the town's resilience against tidal flooding.
The proposed scheme includes a new flood wall, highway drainage upgrades, replacement of essential services under the roadway and reconstruction of footways and carriageways in the area.
It's hoped the wall, which will be four feet high, will significantly reduce tidal flood risk, protecting up to 542 properties.
Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall says: "This project represents a major investment in Ramsey’s future.
"By improving flood resilience and upgrading essential infrastructure, we are protecting homes and businesses while creating a safer, more sustainable environment for residents and visitors.
"These works are a vital part of our commitment to building a resilient Isle of Man."
