Firm had long Manx association
The Pobjoy Mint is to close at the end of the year.
The Surrey-based business has had a long association with the Isle of Man.
The privately-owned Mint began 58 years ago and struck its first circulating coins for the Isle of Man in 1970.
From there they produced the Manx Cat coin series along with the Christmas 50p pieces as well as developing the Isle of Man noble bullion coin.
However, the business lost the commission for the Isle of Man in 2017.
Overall, they've produced coins for a total of 42 countries and territories around the world.
It's understood just under forty jobs will be lost because of the closure.
