The Roads Policing Unit has been working in partnership with the Island's vehicle testing centre to target vehicles with defective lights .
Police enforce the regulations all year round, but ran a specific campaign earlier this month.
It was aimed at making sure vehicles were fit for the road, and reducing road traffic casualties.
During the week-long initiative they stopped 230 vehicles, of which 50 had defects.
There was also one arrest for drink driving.
Inspector Mark Britton says most of the drivers were stopped for having a light out, but it only takes a few moments to check they are working:
