The incident involved a car and a 73-year-old pedestrian.
Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious road traffic collision at the bottom of Broadway and its junction with Derby Road in Douglas last night (21 December).
The constabulary says the incident, at around 8pm, involved a car - driven by a 37-year-old man - and a 73-year-old pedestrian.
Officers are asking members of the public not to speculate over the cause of the collision while investigations continue.
Anyone who may have seen anything, or who may have dashcam footage, is urged to call Police Headquarters on 631212.
Police and emergency services were at the scene for several hours last night; the area reopened just after midnight.
