Cold callers targeting households
Scammers are once more targeting members of the public on the Isle of Man.
They are cold-calling people, claiming to be from the Isle of Man Constabulary Fraud Squad.
They ask the recipient to key in certain numbers on their phone, so they can be connected to the Isle of Man Fraud Squad.
The police say they don't use any automated call centres and officers calling members of the public will do so directly and introduce themselves with their name and rank.
If you get one of these calls, simply hang up the phone.
The matter can be reported to the police using the the following web address, actionfraud.police.uk/report_fraud or by calling them direct on 0300 123 2040.
