Poor response to renewal applications
Police are warning members of the public who own firearms that they will be committing an offence if they haven't renewed their licence by the beginning of April.
The deadline for renewals, which need to be completed every three years, passed at the end of February.
Almost a thousand forms were sent out, but Inspector Derek Flint says there was a very poor return rate.
