As the curtain comes down on the 2008 Mananan Festival in Port Erin on Sunday, a BBC producer who has recorded six concerts at the event, for broadcast on Radio 3 in August, says he hopes to return next year.
Les Pratt says the past fortnight has been a great success, although he accepts the Isle of Man has been under-represented in terms of such coverage in the past.
He says the big cities, like London, Manchester and Glasgow tend to get the attention, and the Island deserves more (audio file attached):
The six chamber music concerts will feature on a total of four programmes in the 'Lunchtime Concert' slot on Radio 3, during the week commencing August 4.
The festival finishes this evening (Sunday).
