Cronk-y-Berry pupils name star and planet after winning UK competition
A little bit of Manx has been put into space thanks to some local primary schoolers.
Two classes of eight and nine-year-olds from Cronk-y-Berry school have beaten thousands of others from across the UK in a competition by the International Astronomical Society, to name a star and planet.
The star, WASP-13, will be named Gloas, the Manx for 'shine', and planet WASP-13b will be now be known as Cruinlagh, which is Manx for 'orbit'.
Chosen because of their 'sense of mystery', the names won 20% of 15,000 public votes.
