Governor defends figures revealed in Tynwald
The governor of the Isle of Man Prison insists the high number of officers guarding inmates is proportionate.
Bob McColm spoke out after Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson released figures suggesting parity between the figures in Tynwald this week.
Ninety-four prison guards - including senior, principle and governor-grade officers - are currently keeping watch over 93 prisoners at Jurby.
Mr McColm says staffing numbers add up, and are mandatory:
