17-year-old praised for getting life 'back on track'
A teenager has been ordered to work with the Manx probation service after admitting to police that she was dealing cannabis.
Lily Susan Jones, of Peel Road in Douglas, admitted possessing the drug with intent to supply during an appearance at Douglas Courthouse.
Police searched the 17-year-old’s home on 4 October and found 2 grams of cannabis with a street value of £48 – she told officers she was selling it to her friends to fund her own use of the drug.
The prosecutor told the court it was an ‘unusually small amount’, split into three ‘deals’, but said the offence had been committed whilst she was the subject of a Conditional Discharge order.
Imposing a 12-month probation order High Bailiff Jayne Hughes told the teenager she had ‘excellent references’ adding: “Clearly you have put your life back on track and you are getting your act together.”
Jones must also pay prosecution costs of £50.
