Plans show farms in middle of Steam Packet route
A number of households have received leaflets in the post this week regarding a consultation into proposed Morcambe and Morgan offshore wind farms.
The Morcambe project is being led by Cobra and Flotation Energy, while Energie Baden-Wurttemberg AG (EnBW) and bp are leading the Morgan project.
According to a map on the leaflets, the farms could potentially be built in the middle of the Steam Packet route from Douglas to Liverpool.
Infrastructure Minister Chris Thomas has described the plans as potentially having "huge implications" for the Island:
An event is being held at Douglas Town Hall from 3pm until 7pm tonight for Island residents to meet the team, find out about the projects and ask any questions they may have.
