Road has now reopened to traffic
Police have asked the public not to speculate following a ‘serious incident’ in Douglas last night (29 March).
Officers enforced a road closure outside The Best Western Palace Hotel and Casino for several hours whilst they worked in the area.
A forensic tent was also erected on the pavement outside the venue.
Central Promenade has now fully reopened to vehicle traffic however a short section of the walkway remains closed to pedestrians.
Businesses will be unaffected and open as usual.
The Isle of Man Constabulary has thanked members of the public for their patience.
