Unite the Union turns down 3% pay increase for 2025/26

The chair of the Public Services Commission says he's 'extremely disappointed' after Unite the Union rejected its pay offer for 2025/26.

It includes a 3% pay increase, while annual leave entitlement for staff who have accrued 10 years' service would increase from 28 days to 30 days per year.

Despite the offer being accepted by the Prospect Union, the PSC says it has no other option but to enter independent arbitration - something it admits is unlikely to bring a resolution before the end of the year.

Onchan MHK Rob Callister is the chair:

The Commission says it recognises the impact a delayed pay award has on all its employees and has already approached the Manx Industrial Relations Service to progress the arbitration process as quickly as possible.

It says it will issue a further update when a decision has been received and has been ratified by the Council of Ministers.
