Hopes to make development scheme more environmentally friendly
A trial is currently underway in Douglas Harbour to grow an artificial reef.
Its a process that has been used globally, using an electric current to attract seawater minerals and coat a steel frame with coral.
The nine month test will, say the team behind the Ramsey Marina, show how such a reef can be used on the Marina breakwater in an environmentally friendly manner.
The proposed development on South Beach has been criticised for its potential environmental impact.
