Figures revealed in chief constable's annual report
The Isle of Man remains the safest place to live in the British Isles according to police here.
Recorded crime has fallen by six per cent in the last year with the overall detection rate at 46 per cent.
Burglary has fallen by 40 per cent – the lowest for several decades - and there have been fewer serious assaults on Island.
The figures have been revealed as part of the chief constable’s annual report which will go to Tynwald in October.
Gary Roberts says offending in the younger generation continues to be an area of concern for the constabulary – with 224 young people responsible for almost 700 offences.
